Let me present you with the present

August 14, 2017

Let me present you with the present.

But first, you must breathe.

Breathe, darling… breathe.

You feel those memories weighing you down

Six feet under ground?

Peel them off.

Watch them evaporate.

Rise above those layers

 Of discontent.

Lift yourself up,

Step out.

Turn yourself around

And walk away

From that grave.

Walk into the present.

But first, you must breathe.

Breathe, darling… breathe.

Those thoughts of what’s to come

What’s to be

Whose to see

The dread of never being
Who you wanted to be

So desperately drains you

Of all life’s energy,

You’re crying over things that aren’t

Set in stone.

The present is where
You’ll find your home.

What will come, will come.

What will be, will be.

What’s done, is done.

And there’s more to see,

You see.

You need not be anybody

Other than the person you are,

Not at present,

For at present you are not

In the present.

Be in the present.

Present yourself with the present.

Get acquainted with the present.

For it is God’s greatest present

To you.

Breathe.

Turn yourself around

And step out of that frown.

Life ain’t down

The present is just so profound

But it’s the gift you haven't found anew

Because you were stopping you

From living and breathing

The presence of Now.

It’s here,

Calling for you!

Let me present you with the present.

But first, you must breathe.

Breathe, darling… breathe.
